Julie Hutchens

Julie Hutchens is the owner and founder of Excite! Gym & Cheer. Before opening Excite! in 2001, Julie attended the University of Oklahoma and has worked at Kids in Action in Kingwood Texas, taught dance in Clear Lake, started a kids’ program at the YMCA in Waukesha, WI and was the lead preschool director at Harpeth in Nashville, TN. Julie is currently involved in HV Rotary, FM Chamber, USASF and USAG. Due to her vast involvement and hard work, Julie has received the Mayor’s Award, has become the Rotary President and is Rotarian of the Year. Originally Julie is from La Porte, Texas, but now resides in Flower Mound, Texas. For 33 years she has been married to Kevin Hutchens, together they have two kids, Nicholas and Alison. Julie’s favorite quote is “Character happens when no one is watching.”

Alison Howard

Alison Howard is an All-Star Cheer Director. She worked at Excite! in high school, then attended Hawaii Pacific University and Stephen F. Austin State University. During her college years she worked at YMCA and as manager at Wahoo’s Fish Tacos. Currently, Alison is involved in USASF and due to her involvement, she has earned a 4-time NCA Collegiate All-American, has been Captain of Hawaii Pacific University Small Coed and Stephen F. Austin State University Small Coed, is a Two-time NCA Collegiate National Champion and a World Champion with Team USA All-Girl. As a coach she has received 2 NCA Titles, 2nd at The Summit and 3 NCA National Innovative Choreography Awards. Originally from Flower Mound, TX, Alison now lives in Lewisville, TX with her husband Eli Howard and dog Hercules Howard. Alison’s favorite quote is “Keep Moving Forward.”

Wicam Smith

Wicam Smith is a Tumble Director, All-Star Cheer Coach and Class Coach. Before working at Excite! Wicam attended the University of Buffalo and received a B.A. in Communication, and Hawaii Pacific University to study C. Human Resource Management (HPU). In the past Wicam has been part of the 2009 NCA Staff, has been Top Rookie Tumbler in 2011 & 2012 NCA Cheer Div. II,a Collegiate National Champion, a Collegiate All-American Top 20, part of the Advisory Board USASF 2016 and the Worlds 2nd International Team. He has also been involved in UB Cheer, HPU Cheer, and USASF. Originally from New York, NY, Wicam now resides in Lewisville, TX. His family consists of a mother, siblings, a niece and three nephews. Wicam’s favorite quote is “BE The change you want to see in the world.”

Patty Miller

Patty Miller is Office and Billing Director. Patty has been a part of Excite! Gym and Cheer since 2002, as a parent of a cheerleader, team mom, Co-President and President of Booster Club. Before working at Excite! Patty attended Pittsburg State University and has had various jobs to include EKG Technician, Mortgage Processor, Church Childcare Provider, Godiva Chocolatier, Crossmark, Gurus 2 Go and many volunteer positions with church and children’s schools. Patty has been involved with Highland Village Rotary and Women of Flower Mound. Due to her involvement she was 2019’s Highland Village Rotarian of the Year and in 2008, she was Godiva’s Employee of the Year. Originally from Overland Park, KS, Patty now resides in Flower Mound, TX with husband John, together they have three children. Patty’s favorite quote is “If everyone does a little, no one does a lot.”

Caitlin Crane

Caitlin Crane is a Gymnastics Director and a Gym Team Coach. Before working at Excite! Caitlin attended the University of North Texas, was a Three-Time NCA All-American and a Seven-Time National Champion. Caitlin has been involved in the Boys and Girls Club and has received 4 Team State Championship Titles and Individual State Championship Titles on Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor. Originally from The Woodlands, Caitlin now lives in Denton, TX. Her family consist of her parents, two sisters and two cats. Caitlin’s favorite quote is “Let your life be your message.”

Blake Alonzo

Blake Covington is an All-Star Cheer, Tumble Coach & Pro-Shop Manager. Before working at Excite! Blake attended the University of North Texas, and was an NCA National Champion, World Champion and an NCA Staff Member. He has also been involved in USASF and has been NCA Staff for 8 years. As a result of his hard work Blake has been a six time NCA National Champion, 2012 World Champion, Cheersport National Champion, three time NCA All-American and captain for both high school and college teams. Originally from the Colony, TX, he now lives in Grapevine, TX with his husband, Dillon and two dogs, Hunter and Ryder. Blake’s favorite quote is “To infinity and beyond!” –Buzz Lightyear.

Destiny Studer

Destiny Studer is an All-Star and Recreational Cheer Coach. Before working at Excite! for five years, Destiny attended North Central Texas College. She has been involved in Inspire for 8 seasons, TAHPERD and USASF. Due to her hard work she has received a Choreography award, a Sportsmanship award and a Highpoint. Originally from Cedar Hill, TX, Destiny now lives in Bartonville, TX. Her family consist of her parents and two sisters. Destiny’s favorite quote is “Joy does not simply happen to us. We have to choose joy and keep choosing it every day.”

 

Noah Mireles

Noah Mireles is a Tumble Coach and a Facility Manager. Before working at Excite! Noah attended Sam Houston State and is currently enrolled at North Central Texas College. Noah was in the Lewisville High School large co-ed and is former Excite! Level 5 athlete, and Cheerleader at Sam Houston State large co-ed. Currently is involved in USASF and has received the 2016 UCA All-American, 2016 UCA National Champion, LHS Cheer most improved award 2016, Excite! Most improved award 2016 and is the ‘15 and ‘16 North Texas regional UCA champion. Originally from Lewisville, TX, Noah now lives in North Richland Hills, TX. Jackie Bode

Janet Cochran

Janet Cochran is a Judge/Coach. Before working at Excite! Janet attended the University of Texas at Arlington for a B.A. in Health/Physical Education, and North Texas State University for a M.Ed in Physical Education. She coached high school gymnastics teams in Irving ISD from 1982-2012 and began judging level 1-5 in 2013 and has been judging level 7/8 since 2016. Janet has been involved in –XXX—. Due to her hard work she has won the 2009 Texas TAHPERD Health Educator of the Year and the 2009 THSGCA Women's Gymnastics Coach of the Year. Originally from Cherry Point, NC, Janet now lives in Arlington, TX. Her family consist of her mother Faye Bannan, brother Pat Bannan, cat Felix and horse Sandy. Lori Stephans

Lori Stephens is in the Front Office. Before working at Excite! Lori attended Washington University in St. Louis and worked in Walt Disney World, Gymboree and from home. She’s been involved in Cub Scout Leadership, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and was a Team Mom at Excite! for many years. Originally from Tulsa, OK, Lori now resides in Lewisville, TX with husband David, together they have three kids. Lori’s favorite quote is “So Shines a Good Deed in a Weary World.”

 

 Kourtney Parker

Kourtney Parker is a Gymnastics Team Coach. She has attended the University of Texas at Arlington and is a certified Kindergarten teacher. Kourtney has always lived in Highland Village and grew up in Excite! She started working at Excite! when she was 16. She has coached Gymnastics, cheer, and tumble. She has worked at a tutoring center focused on early childhood education, and worked in both Arlington ISD and Lewisville ISD as a kindergarten teacher. She has four younger sisters and a little brother. Kourtney’s favorite quote is “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”

Mark Ragar is a Gymnastics and Tumble Coach. Before working at Excite! Mark attended the University of Arkansas Little Rock and has worked with Pine Bluff School of Gymnastics, Lewisville Gymnastics

Rachel Scheler

Rachel Scheler is a Pre-K Coach. Currently she is a junior at the University of North Texas, but before Excite! she was part of the NCA staff. For two years, Rachel did cheer at UNT and has been part of Pi Beta Phi. Originally from Nemo, TX, Rachel now lives in Denton, TX. Rilee Pickett

Rilee Schroeder is a junior at UNT studying kinesiology with plans to go on to become a physical therapist. Before working at Excite! she was a gymnast for 13 years and worked up to level 8, after gymnastics she entered the world of cheerleading and fell in love. She cheered through middle school and then took a break to try track and powerlifting! Both sports took her to the state level in high school and through gymnastics she won state titles in Iowa for Level 4 including 1st place on floor and 2nd place on beam. After that, she got back into cheerleading at her high school in Huntsville, Texas where her dad is the offensive coordinator and head track coach. Working at Excite! Is her first real coaching position, but she truly learned from the best (her dad) her whole life. After high school she continued cheering in college at Tyler Junior College and UNT. She is currently focusing on school and also working as a Physical Therapist Technician. When not studying or working, you can catch her playing with her adorable 4-month-old German Shepherd/lab puppy named Astro! Together they love finding new places to be outdoors and he’s working on going on runs with his momma! Their goal is to run a 5k one day! She is truly excited to begin establishing her life here in North Texas and see what all she can accomplish! Stacie Ternes

Stacie Ternes is a Pre-School Gymnastics Coach. At age 16 she began coaching in a gym owned by her mother, since then she graduated Kansas State University with a Marketing degree and worked for Boeing for 3 ½ years. Originally from Wichita, KS, Stacie now lives in Flower Mound, TX with her husband of 21 years Craig, together they have two daughters Brooklyn and Addison. After her daughter Brooklyn turned one, she moved to Texas and went back to teaching gymnastics part time, she has been with Excite! for over 15 years. Stacie’s favorite quote is “The more you try, the better you get!”

 

Sydney Williams

Sydney Williams is a Preschool Coach and Tumble Coach. She cheered at Excite for two years and afterwards went on to cheer on the All-Girl team at Sam Houston State University for 4 years where she earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology. Originally from Lafayette, Indiana, Sydney now resides in Lewisville, TX. Her family consists of her parents, and her dog Piper. Tausha Walker

Tausha Walker is in the Front Office. Before working at Excite! Tausha attended Rockhurst University, worked in the accounting department at a mutual funds company and at a computer company. Tausha also opened a daycare that successfully ran for 8 years. Originally from Kansas City, MO, Tausha now lives in Denton, TX where she raised her three children.
